Our Mission

The Perkins Township Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality police service to those who live, work and visit the Township of Perkins. We strive to work with our community to maintain the highest level of public safety. We are dedicated to protecting life, property and maintaining order while giving fair and equal treatment to everyone.

Local Heroes

On October 11, 2011, Patrol Officers Matt McPeek and Robert Rieger were recognized for their actions at a structure fire that occurred in the early morning hours in late August.  Officers McPeek and Rieger were notified by a citizen that the Comfort Inn was on fire and they immediately responded after notifying the fire department.  Both officers entered the building and began sounding fire alarms and pounding on doors to alert guests to evacuate.  Their quick response resulted in preventing injuries and quite possibly the loss of life.  The damage to the structure was also kept to a minimum.

K9 Uganda

Perkins Township's newest officer officially hit the streets (with her human partner Ofc. Curran) on November 21, 2011.  Uganda was certified on November 19, 2011 in narcotic detection and human tracking.  Uganda is a German Sheppard dog from the Czech Republic and is three years old.  This program was made possible through public donations and money seized through drug forfeitures.

Toy Drive

Perkins Township Police Officers recently teamed up with Perkins High School's "Pirates for Peers" group and held a toy drive at a local business to help collect toys for local children this holiday season.  The drive was a huge success and because of the communities help, many local children are going to have a wonderful Christmas.

Award Car Through The Ohio Department of Public Safety

Every year Perkins Township Police participate in "Click it, or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns through the Ohio Department of Public Safety.  Departments throughout the state that have successful campaigns are entered into a drawing for a free police cruiser.  Perkins Township was fortunate to be selected for a free cruiser for the year 2011.  Below is a stock photo of the 2013 Ford Interceptor that the department selected and should take delivery on in March of 2012.  Our officers efforts for a safer Perkins Township is commendable and their hard work is reflected here.
